Losing someone we love is difficult and transformative.

The need to grieve in community is visceral.

In the days and weeks immediately following my mother’s passing, my greatest blessing and saving grace were the people who gathered to honor her and celebrate her.  To bring and share food and stories and love.

Today, as we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic together, we are faced with an unprecedented reality in which our families of origin and choice are facing grief and loss, but we are unable to gather physically to support one another in this process.

In this unique time of physical isolation, we have the opportunity, time and distance to bear witness to the important narratives of the people we love, and to share their story through the art of cinema.

The hero’s journey is a universal one.

Each of us is worthy of tribute.  Every person’s life, regardless of how long he lived, or how far she traveled, or how many people he met or how many awards she amassed – every human life represents a fully realized, complex narrative with all the elements of a compelling story – the building blocks from which we craft film, television, literature, theatre, podcasts and many other forms of art.

The story of our lives is a good one.

We love to watch the stories of icons and famous people, to learn what made them who they are, and how they accomplished what they did. Those same meaningful story arcs live implicitly in the lives of our grandmothers, grandfathers, partners, siblings and friends.  Let us help you remember and see deeply how remarkable and impactful their lives truly are.

Stories connect us to our place in the universe.

As human beings, we crave connection.  Connection with our family, our community and the world.  Our brains are wired to understand and retain stories.

When someone we love dies, it can feel like a connection is severed and a story is lost.  We are out of time to ask questions, to hear stories, or to simply watch that person exist in our world.

Through film, we can uncover and activate your loved one’s personal story and make the past come to life.

Through cinematic storytelling, we can honor the person you loved and lost, and amplify their voice and experience.
